Are you a fan of monotype? Are you a painter? Are you a curious artist? All are welcome to come explore this fabulous medium. In this one-day intro workshop, you'll learn how to make colorful monotypes from colored beeswax on a hot palette. We will cover what goes into building a palette, get an overview of the materials and tools, as well as what goes into designing suitable imagery to print with pigmented molten beeswax. You'll improve your painting and printing skills, gaining further experience in non-traditional printing and painting techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to create multiple prints and play with the medium.
Paper provided (artists are encouraged to bring their favorite of various types of paper to test, but not required). Basic tools, paper and a minimum of encaustic paint to print, will be supplied. Participants are also welcome to bring some of their own tools. ( a list will be provided)
*PLEASE NOTE* In the unfortunate instance that the event must be canceled due to health concerns or change in covid-19 policies, a full refund will be issued and participants will be notified immediately. The course needs at least 2 to 3 participants to proceed, and the maximum will be 3 or 4 depending on the health and safety at the time.
