- Color Confidence with Reduction Linocut
Color Confidence with Reduction Linocut
Developing color palettes for printmaking can be challenging. The options and interactions within different types of ink are often overwhelming. In this workshop, we will use Caligo Safewash Relief Inks to explore how the reduction linocut process naturally results in color combinations that are integrated, harmonious and rich.
Over one weekend, each student will create a small image using a limited palette and progressively working light to dark. A linoleum cutting demo will be provided for participants inexperienced with linocut. Familiarity with basic color theory is required; a pre-class exercise will be recommended for those who need a refresher before the workshop.
