Beginning Session - September 23
Photoshop has become the industry standard for bringing analog artwork into the digital realm. Whether putting together a portfolio, a website, or creating prints to sell, knowledge of Photoshop is a must for today’s working artist.
In this course, you will learn the basics of Photoshop to archive your artwork. We will learn how to use this powerful tool to digitally preserve your art, perform color corrections, and prep your work for commercial and giclée printing. We will cover the best ways to display your work digitally as well as in print.
Some prior knowledge of Photoshop is helpful, but not required. Attendees must bring their own computers. It is preferred that you have Photoshop installed, but if not, we will assist you in downloading and installing a free trial version.
Intermediate Session - September 30
Learn how to use Photoshop as a tool for composition, design, and reference for your artwork. We will learn to use Photoshop’s vast array of tools including selection, layering, and masking to assist you at every stage, from planning to execution of your work. We will gather elements and combine them as digital collage, create references that can be scaled up or down, and more.
Some prior knowledge of Photoshop is helpful, but not required. Attendees must bring their own computers. It is preferred that you have Photoshop installed, but if not, we will assist you in downloading and installing a free trial version.
Advanced Session - October 7
Dive in to Photoshop as a tool for creating original digital paintings, collages, and more. Digital art, while quickly becoming the standard in commercial art, offers vast potential for studio artists as well. We will learn the basics of digital painting, color mixing, drafting and much, much more in this course.
Attendees should have a basic knowledge of Photoshop. Attendees must bring their own computers. It is preferred that you have Photoshop installed, but if not, we will assist you in downloading and installing a free trial version. It is also preferred that you bring a digital drawing tablet and stylus.
