Collection: Lamentations, Resilience, and Hope: work by Soulaf Abas, Susan Allison-Hatch, and Carol Felley

Lamentations, Resilience, and Hope brings together the work of three artists reflecting on the human cost of war and displacement. Through different perspectives and personal connections, the artists explore sorrow, endurance, and the search for healing amid conflict. Carol Felley’s current collection honors Israeli hostages taken in October 2023. She reflects on loss, shared grief, and collective memory. Susan Allison-Hatch’s work bears witness to loss, meditating on the human impact of global political violence, from Palestine to Iraq to New Mexico. Soulaf Abas takes inspiration from the refugee experience, drawing on memories and images of destruction in her native Syria. Her work depicts scenes of life and despair, and the humanity of those affected by war. Together, their works create a space for dialogue and empathy – centering human suffering, resilience, and the possibility of connection.

Lamentations, Resilience, and Hope opens on April 11, 2026, and runs until May 30.
