Transform your Photographs into intaglio prints!

Come explore this modern iteration of the famous photogravure process! Photo based printmaking has been around for more than a century, but advances in the creation of affordable non-toxic photo-sensitive polymer plates has made this technique more accessible to photographers and print makers alike. In this workshop Lincoln Draper, master of rich, subtle photopolymer intaglio prints, will divulge his secrets for creating detailed, mysterious photo prints. 
The Class will start by making a plate from a transparency made from an image of the students' choosing. We will then focus on basic printing techniques and encourage discovery of the maximin image potential of the plate. We will explore printing in multiple layers and the use of color to achieve richer tonalities in the print. Students will be encouraged to make a second plate and to explore its possibilities!
