Printmaking is often a very precise, detail-oriented art form. But it can also be a freeing and improvised process! In this workshop we will explore experimental printmaking with an emphasis on shaped stencil plates, application of textures and repeated layering of elements. Students will experiment in this mix to create unique layered and lyrical prints that defy a beginning or end point. This class encourages open-ended exploration and improvisation with monotype, stencil, reductive techniques, trace monotype and more. Experienced and non-experienced printmakers alike are welcome for this fun frolic of art making.
