This workshop covers how to print monotypes, or unique prints, using watercolors and a printing screen. The first day, students learn the process of watercolor monotypes without any patterns or images. A cost-effective way to lay down soft shapes of color, watercolor monotypes can be used as prints on their own or as backgrounds for existing prints. After mastering the basics, students will learn about which images work best for this process, and then will expose their patterns or drawings. On the second day, they will use the watercolor monotype process to force color through their pattern or image. All levels of printmakers are welcome, and no experience is necessary.
